The Amanda Westermier Sportsmanship Award

Sportsmanship Award Criteria.

Annually the Amanda Westermier Foundation gives a trophy saddle for the outstanding sportsman within a selected rodeo association. The winner is chosen by his or her piers. The association participants (the kids) vote for the person that displays the most outstanding qualities of a good sportsman. The person is not necessarily the best rider or participant, but someone who cheers you on, congratulates you, takes care of their animals, lends a hand where needed, and shows a positive attitude both in and out of the arena.

In 2006 the Amanda Westermier Foundation started a Sportsmanship award within the Central Oklahoma Junior Rodeo Association. The Foundation awarded a Trophy Buckle to the winner.
